About the Artist

As an experienced designer of healthcare facilities and as a fine artist and art instructor, Marcus understands how light, color, nature, and art play an important role in healing, inspiring, and creating feelings of joy.

A native of Texas, Marcus began oil painting at age 5 with his mother who fostered his creative spirit. In his teens, he was known as “the artist” among friends as he painted commissioned artwork, sold his artwork in galleries, and won art competitions.

While Marcus shifted his focus to architecture in college and his career, there was no time to paint until he moved to California. The beauty of his new surroundings reignited his passion for painting.

He discovered plein air painting outdoors and loved capturing the vibrant colors and relaxing feel of the day in his seascapes and landscapes. Some of his small studies would later become larger paintings at his home studio.

As children and adults often watched Marcus paint outdoors, they inspired him to become an art instructor. In 2014, he began teaching classes for a local art entertainment company, then became the owner and operated the business for nearly 10 years.

Marcus enjoys working with art consultants and interior designers for commercial artwork in health and wellness environments as well as hospitality and residential settings.
